[News]Kim Hyun Joong-DATV to Broadcast Kim Hyun Joong Drama “City Conquest”

DATV has announced they will air the Kim Hyun Joong drama City Conquest this summer.

The program will be aired in July and features Kim Hyun Joong in the role of Baek Mi-reu, a young man who takes revenge on society after becoming bitter with his father for abandoning their family.

Though filming had begun and the drama was pre-sold to several different countries, it went unaired after KBS denied it a slot in their 2013 lineup. However, footage from the show was aired last October as part of the City Conquest Memorial Event put on by Henecia, the official fan club of KHJ.

The drama also features Jeong Yu-mi, star of the 2011 melodrama A Thousand Days’ Promise. When City Conquest was unable to secure a time slot, Jeong Yu-mi went on to accept a lead role in the show Wonderful Mama.

With the news that DATV will be airing City Conquest, the question that fans are asking is will they finish filming the television series now that it will be broadcast. However, no details have been announced at this time.

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong is in the process of withdrawing from the cast of ‘City Conquest‘. The drama ran into problems earlier this month with a rejection from KBS.

His agency Key East Entertainment announced, “We’re in the process of wrapping up [Kim Hyun Joong's] leave from the drama… We’re rescheduling the events previously put aside for ‘City Conquest’, and for now, he’ll start his promotions as a singer with his Japan tour, world tour, and more.”

The label also added that Kim Hyun Joong is planning to star in a drama later this year, and that they’re currently in the midst of reviewing offers.

Actors Nam Goong Min and Jung Yu Mi are discussing their withdrawal from the drama as well.

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong together with Jung Yoo Mi to meet their japanese fans prior to airing of their drama 'City Conquest'.

To be held in Tokyo Japan's Budokan auditorium on the 5th in the afternoon exepcting a thousand fans to gather for the 'City Conquest' promotion. Starring Kim Hyun Joong and Jung Yoo Mi including director Yang Yun Ho to attend the said event, they will leave for Japan today at 7pm through Gimpo airport.

This promotion is scheduled to launch the 30minute video teaser of the drama.
Last july , the drama took its shooting place in Osaka that causes the fans' expectation to increase.

Kim Hyun Joong and Jung Yoo Mi will introduce the drama and will also celebrate the 1st anniversary of Kim Hyun Joong's fanclub.
This promotion will be attended by more than 400 medias togehter with japanese influential media such as NHK, TBS, Fuji TV.

'City Conquest' with its original name written by Shin Hyung Bin, Kim Hyun Joong will transform into a tough man, Jung Yoo Mi as the honest and pure jewelry designer together with other casts Park Hyo Jun, Kim Seung Woo, Kim Hee Won and Choi Cheol Ho. This drama is expected to air 2nd half of this year in KBS2.

Kim Hyun Joong and Jung Yumi recently attracted attention with their friendly look.

On July 24, a production company of the drama series City Conquest released some snapshots of Kim and Jung in friendly poses.

City Conquest, which will start airing at the end of this year, is an action melodrama series currently being filmed in Japan.

Because the series is adapted from Shin Hyung Bin’s popular cartoon series, the whole plot is completely undisclosed. However, as many fans of the series requested some more information, the company released some snapshots of Baek Mir (played by Kim Hyun Joong) and Lee Dan Bi (played by Jung Yumi).

In the pictures, Kim is showing off his chin line that has become slimmer from some weight loss and hard training he received in order to perform action scenes. His hair is messy and the way he’s dressed is not fancy, but he looks gentle and charismatic.

Playing the role of Lee Dan Bi, a jewelry designer, Jung is showing off her bright smile and innocent look in a white dress and a cardigan.
